A loan helped to buy soil enrichers and a motor for irrigation for the fertilizers for her crops.

Maria Cecilia's story

Maria is 44 years old and a single mother with two children. She lives in an indigenous community in the municipality of Intibucá with her children.

Maria has dedicated herself to the production of potatoes and vegetables for thirty years. She carries out the activity on her own land. She cultivates potatoes, brocolli, cauliflower, and cilantro of top quality. She sells her vegetables in the local market to the groceries.

Maria is requesting a loan from ODEF for the sum of $825 to invest in the purchase of soil enrichers and a motor for irrigation with fertilizers for her crops. With the enrichers she will be able to give more aid to the crops and with the motor she will be able to irrigate and insure her production this summer.

Her dream is to acquire more land to cultivate and to improve the finances of her family.
