Jorge's story

Jorge. 48 years old, lives in his own home, near his parents and siblings. Although he has never married he is looking forward to getting ahead in life.

For the past 20 years, in a partnership with his sister, he has owned a grocery store in his home where he sells all sorts of basic items. During the day she is the one who attends to the store, while he is in his day job as a statistics technician in a local medical center. When he gets home in the afternoon he looks after the store. This way they both share the work and the earnings.

He likes both activities very much, because they keep him entertained and he can meet his expenses without trouble. As he is a very enterprising man, in the future he wants to own his own business, setting up a restaurant where he can serve a variety of Peruvian local dishes.

This is his second loan with MFP and he is committed to paying back the loan in a timely manner, because he doesn't want to let the other members of his Communal Bank down. With the money he asks for he will purchase merchandise to stock up his store, obtain better earnings and start saving for his future restaurant.
