A loan helped to install a satellite pump to provide clean water for the family.

Atikah's story

Atikah, age 60, is a trader. She and her husband have sold rice and fruit in the Tangerang district for 10 years. They have two daughters and two sons.

Today, Atikah’s family has no access to a water source in their home, and must rely on the river for bathing. The family income is insufficient to build a water source, but they will be able to make loan payments, so Atikah has asked for a loan in the amount of 8,100,000 Indonesian rupiahs (IDR) from KBMI. The loan funds will be used to install a satellite pump to provide clean water for her family. Atikah and her husband are eager to improve their living conditions and to create a happy and healthy life for their children.

Atikah and her family want to live a healthy life with access to clean water. She is very grateful for this opportunity, and offers her thanks to all her Kiva lenders.

This loan is special because:

It helps prevent the spread of disease by providing access to clean drinking water and sanitation.
