Aïcha's Group's story

This group is part of the Banc Villageois that has existed since June 2015. It consists of seven courageous women who live in the same neighborhood. They share strong values of kinship, friendship, and solidarity. Their main business is trade.

Madame Aïcha is 46 years old and is the representative standing to the left of the photo, raising her hand. She is divorced and has three children. One of them is a girl and they are all students. She has been able to build her savings in order to obtain consistent loans and better develop her business.

Aïcha runs a fabric trade. She buys from wholesalers in the markets and resells at retail; she does this in the neighborhood where she lives. She capitalizes on 15 years of good experience in the field.

She will buy fabrics of different qualities that she will resell with a good profit margin.

With her profits she takes care of everything for her children: food, clothing, health, and schooling.

In this group: Aïcha, Fatou, Fatmata, Youma, Astou, Kadidiatou, Marième
