A loan of $350 helped purchasing materials and supplies to create traditional clothing.

Lucia Celestina's story

Lucía Celestina Ordóñez C. is 43 years old and married. By profession, she is an artisan, specializing in the creation of traditional clothing. She has a workshop with two looms. She lives together with her husband and 4 children. She and her husband work in the same business, and they have an employee to help them with their work. For 25 years, they have made traditional clothing in their home, which is located in Paraje Chaquiral, in the canton of Quiaquix, Department of Totonicapán, Guatemala. Currently, customer demand has been rising, but the prevailing economic conditions are not favorable enough to allow her to increase her capital. For this reason, she came to the ASDIR Association to request a loan, with the aim of buying materials and supplies, which will allow her to increase her sales, while hoping also to be able to help her children advance and provide them with a better quality of life.
