A loan of $750 helped a member to purchase cooking oil, soups, rice, and vegetables.

La Buena Fe Group's story

Isemaline is the coordinator of her group, La Buena Fe (Good Faith), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican (many of whom recently emigrated to the DR from Haiti) clients generally. Her group is located in the rural areaas surrounding El-Seibo, a rural town where the economy is dominated by agriculture and where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her long term partner and their three children.

Isemaline is excited to be taking her second loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business (selling food at a stand) by purchasing cooking oil, soups, vegetables and rice. She will use the profits to invest in her children by purchasing school supplies and in her business which she would like to make bigger. She thanks you all for your support.

In this group: Isamelaine, Maria, Angela, Edita, Loveli
