One Dollar Group's story

Amina, the featured borrower of One Dollar Group, is a 44-year-old Syrian refugee mother of eight children who runs a home-based business selling nuts and Matteh. She is a hardworking woman who supports her husband and helps him in covering their big family's increasing needs through improving her business continuously.

Recently, she needed some products to increase her stock, so she got together with Fatima and Fatimah to acquire a refugee group loan product from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua. She wants to use her loan share to buy some nuts and coffee to improve her business and send some the money to her son who is living abroad to undergo surgery.

Amina is an example of a strong woman who wishes to help her family live a stable life after leaving their hometown many years ago to escape the war.

Fatima is the lady sitting on the right, Fatimah is in the middle, and Amina is on the left.
