A loan helped a member to buy hair weaves and cosmetic products.

Sokhna's Group's story

This group of seven women took the opportunity to join the Banc Villageois started in their community in December 2008. They live in the same neighborhood and are family, neighbors and friends. They have a good relationship. They earn their livings mainly in commerce. They use their loans well.

Amy is 31 years old and the leader of the group. She is standing on the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and does not yet have children. She took a course in hair styling.

Amy earns her living selling a variety of cosmetic products and hair weaves. She gets her stock from the wholesalers at the market in the center of the city and sells at her house where she has a beauty salon. She takes advantage of her seven years of experience.

With this new loan she will buy 10 packages of hair weaves (natural hair) which she will sell with a good profit margin. She manages to sell her products with no problem as she has a loyal clientele and she also sells on credit.

Her earnings will allow her to add to her savings and expand her business.

In this group: Sokhna, Khady, Ndoumbé, Nogoye, Awa, Amy, Tabara
