A loan of $725 helped maintenance of his farm (purchase barbed wire & pay for labor to clear his land).

Elcides Benjamín's story

Sr. Elcides Benjamín C. C. is originally from the community of Guaruma in the city of San Juan de Limay, Department of Estelí. He is a farmer and rancher who is requesting a loan to maintain his farmland. During this time of year, he has to clear all the fields where is animals graze and repair the fences around his property to keep them in good condition. Elcides wants to make further improvements. He has worked as a farmer and rancher for more than ten years. His father taught him this trade and is now completely devoted to this way of life. He possesses 170mz of land (approximately 294 acres) and has a total of 39 animals that he bought and raised through his own efforts. He previously received a loan to acquire a solar panel, which has been very useful since his place does not receive electricity.

Elcides expects this loan will be of great help because much work needs to be done. He is married and has one child who is still too young to attend school. He still lives at home with his parents.

This is the second loan Elcides has received from CEPRODEL within the past year. He hopes to continue working with the organization since the loan he already received was a great help. Elcides wants to make further improvements to his farm and hopes that CEPRODEL will continue to be of service.
