A loan of $1,100 helped purchase of cattle.

Bernardo's story

Bernardo N. C. is 48 years old, he is married and has two children who are his greatest priority. One is 17 and the other is 12. He wants the credit to buy cattle. His idea is to have cattle for a double purpose (meat and milk). He wants to keep the cattle adequately so he can obtain the highest possible earnings when it's sold. This is not the first time he asks for a loan from FUDECOSUR and he is very happy with the conditions they've given him. Mr. Bernardo has 8 hectares of pasture of different kinds (brisanta, gamalote, toledo and others), all good for breeding and fattening cattle. In the future he hopes to offer his family a better quality of life and more financial stability, as well as being able to grow both as a person and as a cattle breeder.

The Foundation for the Development of Southern Communities is dedicated to economically empowering its clients by providing credit and capacitating programs to improve living conditions of micro-entrepreneurs and their children across Southern Costa Rica.
