A loan of $550 helped buy children's clothing and pieces of fabric.

G. Léocadie's story

Born on March 3, 1978 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin, G. Léocadie K. is married to Simon LOKO. The couple have four children, all attending school. The family lives in the Ahouassa neighbourhood of Cotonou. Léocadie often assists her husband with household expenses, thanks to the revenue generated by her activity. She attended school up to secondary level.

To meet her various expenses over the past eight years, Léocadie has been selling children’s clothing and pieces of fabric, through the distribution system. As a secondary activity Léocadie sells corn, which allows her to diversify her sources of income. She gets her supplies from Lomé in Togo (a neighbouring country), and also from Dantokpa, Benin’s international marketplace.

Léocadie is a former beneficiary of ALIDé, having already been granted four loans, all reimbursed in full. Léocadie’s customer base is increasing day by day, but she is unable to satisfy the demand due to her financial limitations. She is therefore requesting a fifth loan from ALIDé.
