Ananías Gerardo's story

Anonías is a 54-year-old man. He lives in a rural community in Costa Rica located 45 kilometers from San José. It is called San Cristobal Norte. San Cristobel is a mountainous area where the principal activities are commerce, vegetable and coffee farming as well as making folk-art, ranching and many other activities. Mr. Ananías lives with his wife and his daughter.
Mr Ananías works with milk and cheese production in order to generate an income for his family. He is very content because, thanks to this community-banking project, he has been able to move forward. His products are well liked by his neighbors in his community. This is why he would like to increase his production.
Mr Ananías would like to receive a micro loan of 656,000 colons in order to buy two more milk cows. If he owns more cows he will increase his milk production He desires to be a successful small business owner. In this way he can help his family be successful. His family responsibilities motivate him to work with care.
Mr. Ananías is a member of the San Cristóbal Norte Community Credit Business (SACRIN). It is one of the 100 members of EDESA in Costa Rica. This is his third loan. With this loan he hopes to continue growing personally and economically. He also knows that thanks to this type of organization that facilitates obtaining credit, he is able to dedicate more time to productive activities.
