A loan helped a member to buy sheep to resell in order to support her family.

Jekafo Group's story

Mariam is the one holding the sheep in the group photo. Mariam, a Malian woman of 38 years of age, raises livestock. She is married, the mother of 4 children who go to school. She is literate in the national language. Her husband is a farmer.

She stocks up on and sells animals at the daily markets in her area. After the sale, she could have profits that vary between 15,000 and 20,000 francs [approx. $26 to 34 USD] for 5 months. She has been in business for 3 years.

Her profits allow her to take care of medical expenses, clothe her children, and ensure her family’s food security. She counts on RMCR’s financial support to be able to buy a lot of animals while defeating poverty and improving the living conditions of herself and her family.
