A loan helped to buy a shelving unit, bags of rice/sugar/flour, cartons of noodles/biscuits/milk, tinned foods, cooking spices, toiletries, and other items.

Aseri's story

Aseri (45) has noticed the tiring journeys many of her neighbours must make in order to buy goods and services from convenience stores outside of Vakabuli. Due to this observation, she has come up with the idea of opening her own canteen, to be operated from her home. It is through a canteen business that she will be able to support her family and also provide her community with the household items they need every day.

Aseri is humbly requesting a loan to help purchase a shelving unit, canteen stock, and packaging bags so that her canteen can be opened as soon as possible. She is keen to work hard to help the business thrive and provide a stable life for her family of eight.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
