A loan of $200 helped purchase of molds for bricks.

Damiana's story

Damiana is 48 years old and her children have been independent and have had their own families for a long time. She lives in her own house and what she desires the most is to live in her old age in peace. She has a brick oven located in the outskirts of the city. Each morning she gets up very early to mix and mold the bricks, those of which afterward will dry for 10 days and she will put in her oven. This activity has generated an income for her that allowed her to give the best to her three children. It’s for this reason that she is still doing it.

On the other hand, what she likes the most about her job is selling her bricks and seeing that her work is well worth it. She has been doing this for 10 years and she thinks the most difficult thing about it is working with the mud, since in the cold season the mud is very frozen, causing her to get sick and not be able to work normally.

This is Damiana’s third loan with MFP. She hopes to be very punctual in her payments, since she does not want to harm the other members of her community bank, where she is very well-liked and respected. With the 500 nuevos soles that she is asking for, she will buy new molds to make her bricks, since the ones she uses now are deteriorating as time passes.
