A loan helped to build a house for her business to sell her fragrance products.

Mele's story

Mele, 32 years old, is a married woman with three children who are all currently in school. They live together in a home they own, along with four other people.

Mele runs a business selling perfumes, as shown in the picture. She imports her fragrances from overseas and then sells them out of her home. Her business is growing and she earns money each month, but it is a challenge when customers come straight to her house to buy products. As such, she needs a separate house for her business so she can hire someone to look after the business when she’s busy.

She requested a loan from SPBD to build a house for her business so she can sell there. She will use her earnings to support her family and repay the loan.

Her vision for the future is to grow her business.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
