Florencia's story

Florencia is a member of the Communal Bank “Pro Desarrollo” (Pro Development). She lives in Pisac, which lies in Calca Province, Department of Cusco. Pisac is located 40 minutes away from the city. It is small town that inherited beautiful Incan structures, which is required sightseeing by all tourists who visit the city of Cusco.

Florencia is 37 years old, married, and has four children of whom three are independent and have their own families. She lives with her youngest child, who is 9 years old. Florencia divides her time between her household activities (such as caring for, feeding, and protecting her son) and running her business. She sells handicrafts from a stand at the main square in Pisac. She takes advantage of the summers in the neighboring country of Chile and brings back handicrafts made over there. Her husband manages a pharmacy, which is a family business where she also works. Florencia is requesting a loan to reinvest in her handicraft business.

She is grateful for this opportunity and promises to complete her payments on time.
