Jessica's story

Jessica is a member of the Communal Bank “Pro Desarrollo” (Pro Development). She lives in Pisac, which lies in Calca Province, Department of Cusco. Pisac is located 40 minutes away from the city. It is small town that inherited beautiful Incan structures, which is required sightseeing by all tourists who visit the city of Cusco.

Jessica is 34 years old, in a common law marriage, and has three children (ages 17, 7, and 5). She divides her time between her household activities and running her business. Jessica is an artisan and has a stand at the main square in Pisac. She sells jewelry and handicrafts made of alpaca wool. Jessica offers all types of items such as earring, necklaces, ornaments, key chains, scarves, ponchos, stuffed animals, ashtrays, wool caps, wine decanters, drinking glasses, and other products. She is requesting a loan to buy more merchandise and improve her sales.
