A loan of $250 helped to buy natural fertilizer.

Silvia's story

Silvia, 37, lives with her husband and two children in her own home. For the last 11 years she has been a farmer and has raised cattle. The has cows, bulls and sheep and she grows corn, potato and alfalfa, which serves as feed for her animals. For Silvia, her best earner is alfalfa sales, so she has increased its production. She harvests this grass daily to feed her animals and then distribute to her customers. Because of the high profitability of this business, she is planning to acquire more land to grow alfalfa. This is her 9th loan with MFP and she is happy to be part of a communal bank where she is an active participant. The funds requested now will be used to buy sacks of natural fertilizer to plant more alfalfa as well as to buy a calf to raise for subsequent sale.
