A loan helped a member to buy two bundles of second-hand clothes and cover the necessary transport costs in order to fill her stockroom.

Dorcas Group's story

Mamy is president of the Dorcas community bank group. She has been a client of the Hekima microfinance institution for over three years.

Mamy is married and has five children aged between four and nine years old, four of whom are in school. She has been selling second-hand clothes outside her front door for 20 years, using start-up funds given to her by her uncle and, afterwards, loans from Hekima.

With the funds from this loan, Mamy will buy two bundles of second-hand clothes and pay for the necessary transport costs in order to fill her stockroom. Her goal is to expand her business and have a large store at the central market place. She is very grateful to Hekima and its partners for the financial support they give to the poor of all races and tribes.
