A loan of $525 helped to purchase industrial kitchen equipment.

Magda's story

Magda is 58 years old. She lives with her husband and her children in her own house. For the past 2 years, she has been effectively working in her own factory making candied peanuts and broad beans. With this business she relies on the participation of the whole family. She works from the comfort of her own home, where she has all of the equipment and tools necessary to make this candy. Magda works the whole morning and in the afternoon she distributes her products in the various stores in her neighborhood. Because of the quality of her product, her orders have increased and so have her customers. Because of this, she hopes that in the coming years her business will be more prosperous. In order to make this happen, she is working with more sophisticated machinery that helps her to have greater production. This is the sixth time she has had a loan with Microfinanzas Prisma [Kiva Field Partner]. She is one of the members with a history with a communal bank, and she wants to continue working in a group. The money she is now requesting will be used to purchase industrial kitchen equipment and steel utensils for preparing her candy.
