A loan of $525 helped to buy materials to make shoes.

Maruja's story

Maruja, 49 years old, is a woman who has worked throughout her life in order to excel. She lives in her own home with her husband Leonardo, who is 50, and what she most desires is to have a tranquil old age.

With a lot of sacrifice and work Maruja managed to start a business making shoes; she has a small workshop where she makes shoes in styles that are very up-to-date and striking. She distributes them in shops and stalls in the most important markets in the city. Her products are sold very quickly, and for this reason the shops are requesting more of her shoes. What she likes most about her work is making the shoes; she has spent 8 years in this line of work. She considers the most difficult part to be the distribution. In the future, she hopes to establish a store where she can sell the shoes that she makes.

This is Maruja's 3rd loan with MFP. She is prepared to make her payments on time so as not to harm the other members of her communal bank, where she is well-liked and considered to be responsible. With the fifteen hundred Peruvian soles that she requests she will buy more materials for the production of new shoes.
