Katia's story

Katia, age 19, is a cheerful and straightforward young woman who lives in the home of her parents, Humberto, age 41, and Nelida, 39, to whom she wants to give a peaceful old age. Her grocery store is the first one serving her neighborhood. Her doors are open from 7:00 in the morning in order to receive her early rising buyers who, being aware of the variety of merchandise she carries, don’t hesitate to buy from her, for they can be certain of finding the things they need.

What she likes most about her work is talking with her customers and finding out about things that are happening in her neighborhood. She has been in business for 5 years and considers the most difficult part having to stay inside her shop all day without being able to leave.

She desires to make her business grow and to offer her customers better service. This is Katia’s first loan with MFP, and she hopes to be able to pay it back on time since she doesn’t want to cause problems for the members of her communal bank. She is very respected there due to the organization she brings to the group. With the 1000 new soles applied for she will buy more products in order to make her grocery shop better.
