Mayra Petrona's story

Mrs. Mayra Petrona V. is 45 years old and lives in the Reparto Arriba neighborhood of Tegucigalpa. Mayra’s job is make and sell tortillas. She gets up at 4:00 a.m. to begin making tortillas, the first of which are ready at 6:00 a.m., which she then delivers to her customers. The second batch is ready around noon. Every day her customers are ordering more tortillas and she can’t keep up with all of their demands. Because of this, she is applying for this loan to buy more tortilla-making materials so she can produce more. She needs her income to maintain her home and her family.
