Doreen's story

Doreen is a 47-years-old Mozambican woman. She lives with her husband and their two lovely daughters in Chimoio, centre of Mozambique.

Doreen is a hard-working and very talented woman. She works as a business consultant supporting mainly women on how to run a business properly. After so many years of consultancy, Doreen decided to enter into partnership with her husband to start her own business as a way to increase the income to her family.

Doreen started to supply a local market with some fresh products such as tomatoes and other vegetables. Now she has been challenged by the fact that she can not deliver all of her production in a short period of time. Due to this delay, Doreen has been facing some crop damage as well as loss of produce quality.

In order to avoid losing the big clients she already has, Doreen in asking for a Kiva loan to buy a crop cooler in order to conserve her production and ensure better quality products for her clients.

In the future, Doreen plans to have her own fresh shop properly equipped in order to ensure fresh products on a daily basis.
