Julio Cesar's story

Our member, JULIO CESAR, belongs to the “INTIWATANA” cooperative bank. He lives in Pisac, which is situated 40 minutes from the city of Cusco, in the Calca province. It is a small town that has inherited some beautiful Incan constructions, and is an obligatory visit for tourists who travel to see Cusco.

Julio is 40 years old, married, and has three children ages 13, 11 and 6. He dedicates himself to retail sales, working together with his wife to sell handicrafts. They have a store located in the main plaza of the town of Pisac, where they have been selling ceramics, quartz stones, and clay pottery for the past 15 years.

They are requesting a loan to reinvest into their business as working capital. They need to buy various colors of stones to sell to other craftspeople that dedicate themselves to making jewelry, and need the stones to make pendants, necklaces, rings and other works in silver and alpaca.

Our member values and appreciates access to credit via this means, and likewise commits to pay the loan back within the established schedule.
