Fernanda Estefania's story

The Totoracocha communal bank is in Cuenca, a city that you fall in love with because of its historic city center, its culture, traditions and gastronomy. It is bathed by four rivers and is a city unlike any other. The members are hard-working women who are always seeking ways to improve their family's life for a better future. Fernanda T. is on the the youngest members; she's only 19. This is her third loan cycle with the bank. Previous loans have been used to buy merchandise for her clothing stall in the 19 de Agosto market. She has been in this line of work for 5 years and she tells us that sales have fallen a bit but she hopes they will return to normal soon. She works from 8 until 6. The funding will be used to buy blouses, jackets, pants, underwear and leg warmers and more for women, men and children. Her goal is to have a larger, better-stocked stall so that she can improve more each day.
