A loan of $725 helped to buy more smoked and dried fish.

Helena's story

Helena is 35 years old, married and the mother of four children. Currently all her children are in school. She sells smoked fish. She started her fish sales 20 years ago at the community market where she lives. She buys her stock of fish from Yeji in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. She prepares and serves her customers with very tasty and good quality fish and because of that, many customers buy from her stand. She also sells sachet mineral water. Her children sell the water chilled in an ice chest by the roadside when school is closed. She has a high customer base as a result of her moderate prices and her good reception towards her customers. She requests a loan to upgrade her stock of fish and buy some new bags of water. She dreams of giving her children a quality education using the proceeds from the business and she would be grateful for your support.
