A loan helped a member to buy sheep to resell so she can buy supplies for her children.

Benkadi Ii Group's story

Kadi is the woman in the photo holding the sheep. She is 39 years old and lives with her farmer husband in Mali. She has five dependent children who attend school.

Kadia borrows from the MFI RMCR with members of her group to finance their activities (raising sheep and cattle, retail sales), which she has been practicing for seven years. She is very respectful of her environment and she buys her animals (sheep and cattle) at the markets in her town. She resells them at the same markets for a profit after taking care of them for a period of time. Her income allows her to take care of her children by paying for their school supplies, clothes and healthcare. She plans to help her children achieve their educational and other goals, and to buy work cattle.
