A loan of $725 helped to buy bread-making supplies.

Arminda's story

Arminda belongs to the community bank "El Breo" in the district of Juanjui, province of Mariscal Cáceres, in the department of San Martín. She is married, 63 years old, and is the mother of three children who still depend on her.

Arminda sells breads and sweets. She has been in this business for 8 years and works from a well set-up location in her own house.

Arminda, as she is affectionately called, was saving money little by little and making herself very well know to her customers, so that today she has customers who are very loyal to her.

Currently, she is continuing with this same business and is very proud of her work. Her husband helps her deliver the bread to her customers, residents, and friends.

With this loan of 2,000 soles ($725), she will buy ingredients and supplies such as: flour, sugar, butter, salt and flavorings. She will also invest part of the money in buying a new counter to display her goods.

Arminda is thankful to Movimiento Manuela Ramos for the unconditional support they give to her and to other women like her who want to get ahead.
