Vergenia's story

Vergenia Y.'s main source of income comes from planting and harvesting mango for sale. She is 44 years old, married and has one school-age child. They are from the village of Poblacion 2, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. Vergenia has been in her business for over 20 years and earns approximately 40,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) a month.

In 2004, Vergenia joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living conditions and enable her to engage in business activities. Vergenia has successfully repaid a previous loan from GDMPC. Vergenia is requesting a new loan of 50,000 PHP which will be used to purchase fertilizers such as manure. This will be her eleventh loan from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue to improve the general living conditions of her family.
