A loan of $1,050 helped purchase cases of soft drinks.

Martha Elizabeth's story

Martha Elizabeth belongs to the Esmeralda Communal Bank, Tarapoto District, San Martín Province and Department. She is married, is 42 years old and is the mother of three children who are now grown.

Martha Elizabeth is a hard-working and determined woman, so she decided to start her own business selling soft drinks in a well air-conditioned space, located in her own house. She runs the business herself, without a fixed schedule or a boss. She tells us that she began with 100.00 soles and began by buying 7 cases of soft drinks. She saw that it went very well for her, so little by little she began investing more. Today she continues with the same business and is now well-known to her customers, who are her neighbors, relatives and friends.

With this loan of 3,000.00 soles, she will buy more drinks like: cases of soft drinks in different flavors, sizes and brands, as well as carbonated and non-carbonated mineral water.

Martha Elizabeth is very grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement (Kiva's field partner) for helping her when she needed it most. She is responsible with her payments and expects to keep being so.
