A loan of $1,050 helped buy compost and fertilizer.

Jovita's story

Jovita is 25 years old. She lives with her husband Félix, 26 years old, and their two small, restless children: Nicole, age 6, and Edilson, age 3. They live very happily and with the desire to advance themselves in their home, which is their own.

For 7 years, Jovita has helped her husband in the planting of potatoes, peas, olluco (a tuberous vegetable), and beans. Agricultural labor is tiring work, and the charismatic Jovita knows this very well because she dedicates a large part of each day to this activity. From very early on, she has to watch that her fields don't go bad due to a plague or some other cause, and in the afternoon she has to go back to her house to take care of her little ones and cook, which, incidentally, she knows how to do very well. She prepares all types of food, but her specialty is fried trout.

Thus pass the days of this hard-working woman, in the field and taking good care of her family. Jovita dreams of having a restaurant where she can offer her delicious dishes. In addition, she wants to plant larger quantities to increase her productivity and obtain better earnings.

This is the ninth time that she has had a loan with MFP and she is sure of completing all her payments so as not to give a bad impression and not to set back her group, which is made up of responsible and hard-working people. Jovita is thinking of investing the money she is requesting in the purchase of a number of bags of compost and fertilizer. She will also buy pea seeds to plant in larger quantity.
