A loan helped to buy groceries, kitchen tools, etc.

Katherine Cecibel's story

The city of Portoviejo was struck by an earthquake on April 16th, 2016. It is located in the Río Portoviejo valley, and the city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruits for its domestic consumption.

Katerine is 31 years old, in a common-law relationship, and has 3 children, ages 14, 12 and 7, who attend to elementary and middle school. Her life partner is a master builder and they live in a house of their own.

Katerine works preparing and selling food. She works on weekends preparing black pudding, empanadas (stuffed bread) and snacks. She has home delivery service but some customers go to her place. Her mother-in-law helps her preparing the food.

She’s had this business for the past 8 months, and with this new loan she will buy groceries, kitchen tools, etc.

Her dream is to have a place for her own restaurant.
