A loan helped to purchase more dry coconuts to sell.

Victoria's story

Meet 37-year-old Victoria from Liberia. She is married with 5 children. Victoria had never been to school. Victoria runs a business which sells dry coconuts to her customers in the general market. She has been in this business for the past 15 years and works 15 hours per day, 6 days a week and has had no problem with her business.

Victoria requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more dry coconuts to sell, so to increase her business. She says that extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

In the next five years Victoria wants to become a successful business woman. She says thanks and shows appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
