A loan of $2,000 helped me fund the production ready model of my UTouch device in order to bring my product to market.

Gable's story

My name is Gable Eaton. I was raised in Oakland, CA. My mother was a single parent. Very early she instilled in me the need to be independent and to be a leader. Watching her work hard every day prompted me to get my first job at the age of ten. I was the neighbor paperboy. I was proud to offer my mother some relief by purchasing my own school clothes and giving her half my earnings to help pay the bills. At the age of twenty, I entered the United States Marine Corps. From day one I was a leader. I graduated from bootcamp with top honors and a fresh set of dress blues. Standing on that stage was one of the proudest moments of my life as I heard my mother screaming her joy for each citation I received. I again graduated with honors from Infantry Training School and received another fresh set of dress blues. I was also selected to serve at the Marine Barracks 8 & I in Washington DC, which then included assignments at Camp David and the White House. A lot of people believe that having been a Marine gave me the discipline I possess. It was my mother who instilled that in me first. The Marine Corps gave me the courage to stand out and the confidence to lead and to one day start my own business. TeqTouch and my creation UTouch is possible because I had the best teachers anyone could ask for. And, UTouch will be possible with the help of the Kiva platform and the many other entrepreneurs like myself bringing dreams and visions to life.
