Sen's story

Sen S., 43, is married and lives with her three children in Takeo Province, Cambodia.

S. runs a hammock business at her home, and she is able to earn an income of US$5 per day to help cover the family expenses. She has been in this business since 2000. Her husband is a businessman who sells mats and hammocks, earning a gross income of US$35 per day. He has to travel everywhere in the province to sell his products.

S. and her husband try to work hard and help each others to ensure a good standard of living for the family and they are seeking to improve their businesses as well. As a result, S. is requesting a loan of US$1,000 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the loan to purchase more mats and hammocks for her husband to sell. This is her first loan from CREDIT.
