Fulumena's Group's story

Pictured above is Fulumena, often described as an extremely reliable person. She is 51 years old and has 6 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 11 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Fulumena is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund. This means that she will be able to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, This is why she decided to join in the first place. Fulumena says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2016, she has had more profits from each harvest, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Fulumena will use the profits from this season to save more money for the future.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 6.75 acres. Some members of the group will also be purchasing solar lights; with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 4 solar lights.
