A loan of $350 helped buy a chassis to convert his motorcycle into a mototaxi.

José Manuel's story

José, 46, is married and lives with his wife and three children. He lives in the Valle Nuevo sector in the Mochumí district, which is one and a half hours from the city of Chiclayo.

He has worked in agriculture and sold animals for 20 years. During those years he has supported his family with the income from these activities. He plants diverse grains on a small field. He also raises animals to sell to the businessmen who occasionally visit the area where he lives.

José needs more income to give his family a better quality of life and to keep educating his children. Pursuing this objective, he plans to convert his motorcycle into a “mototaxi” (a motorized vehicle used to transport passengers and cargo). In order to do this he is asking Edpyme Alternative, for the first time, for a loan for 1,000 PEN. He plans to buy a chassis and other necessary accessories to achieve his objective.

His biggest desire is to see his children become successful professionals. He is a very responsible father, and he is very devoted to his family.
