A loan of $1,075 helped to buy groceries.

Rosa Nery's story

Rosa Nery belongs to the communal bank "Mujeres Activas de Belén,” located in the Moyobamba district, Moyobamba province, in the department of San Martín. She is married, 40 years old, and is the mother of 8 children, 6 of whom are still dependent upon her.

Her personality and her desire to accomplish her dreams motivated her to start her own business selling groceries, located in the central market of her district. Since then, little by little, she has gained experience in this type of activity and has learned how to succeed.

Rosita, as she is affectionately called, tells us that her sales are going very well and that her customers come to her store each day to buy because she has all of the necessary items that a housewife could need. She personally attends to her customers with her characteristic charm.

With this loan of 3,000 Peruvian soles she will buy rice and sugar in sacks, packaged noodles, cartons of milk and boxes of canned fish in a variety of brands, household cleaning and personal care products and packs of soft drinks with different flavors and brands so that she can satisfy her clients and provide them with better service. Rosa Nery feels very capable of continuing to work, and she is very grateful to the Movimiento Manuela R. organization for helping women like herself so that they can have the opportunity to develop in their field of enterprise.
