Santos's story

Sra. Santos is a member of the Communal Bank “Mujeres Emprendedoras” (Women Entrepreneurs), which is in the District of Moyobamba, Moyobamba Province, Department of San Martín. She is 56 years old, married, and the mother of eleven children, three of whom are still dependent on her.


Motivated by her desire to fulfill her dreams, Santos started her own business selling produce, such as potatoes, cassava, bananas, and cornmeal. Her vending location is in the Central Market in her district, which is well-suited for attending to her customers who have known about her work.


To date, Santos has been gaining customers who come by daily to buy from her she carries all the vegetables that a housewife needs. She personally greets each of her customers with the charisma that she possesses.


With this loan of 3000 soles, she will purchase produce such as bananas in bunches, sacks of cassava, beans of different varieties, and kilos of corn. Part of the money will also be used to buy shopping bags so that she can keep her customers happy.


Santos feels very strongly about continuing her work. She is very grateful to Manuela Ramos for supporting women like her to have opportunities to develop in the communities where they live.
