A loan of $1,200 helped to buy food for dairy cows and to help pay for a well.

Braulio's story

Mr. Braulio C. S. is 64 years old and lives in the town of Mallco Chapi, about 21 kilometers from the city of Cochabamba. Braulio has been married for more than 36 years and they have three children who are 26, 22, and 19. The younger two live with them and along with helping care for the cows, also study at a technical school in the city of Cochabamba. Braulio has worked in fresh milk production for more than 20 years, and also farms different crops on his land. At his home he has 5 dairy cows, and they are his main source of income.

The loan will be used to buy food for the dairy cows, since the price has increased from lack of rain. In this way he can feed his livestock the normal amount and their milk production and his earnings will not be affected. The loan will also be used to pay for his share of the water well that they are building in the area to irrigate his land.

Braulio tells us that his biggest dream is to provide every comfort for his wife and children, since their house does not currently have many luxuries or necessary utilities. He also tells us that with the next loan he gets, he would like to build a house for his children, so that they can live more comfortably.
