Pheng's story

B., 42, is a modest woman living in Banteay Meanchey province. She is married with three teenage children, all of whom attend school and also earn income by sewing clothes when they are free from studying. B. sells fried banana and potato to the people living in her village, while her husband drives a taxi for a profit.

B.’s husband has been using a very old vehicle to pick up his clients and recently his taxi has often broken down. This problem affects his income. B. is therefore applying for a loan, which will allow her husband to replace his old taxi.
