A loan helped to purchase fertilizer and renew 1,500 coffee plants.

Luciano Andrés's story

Luciano lives in the village of San Martin, a community of coffee growers fifty minutes from San Ignacio, Peru. Luciano, 47, lives with his wife and four children. He maintains his own parcel of land, two hectares of excellent quality coffee that he markets through the “Centrocafe” Cooperative which, in turn, sells it on the organic fair-trade market. His parents taught him about farming when he was a boy.

He dreams of increasing his coffee production and generating more income for his family in order to provide his young children with an education. A loan to Luciano will give him the opportunity to improve his business and increase his production by renewing and fertilizing part of his coffee plantations. During his eight years as a member of Norandino, he has proven himself responsible.
