A loan helped a member to buy rice, pasta, and oil wholesale.

5 De Agosto Group's story

The 5 de Agosto communal bank, as part of the Senkata Agency, is made up of nine members who are friends and neighbors of the area. It's run by a board of directors of which Modesta's the president.

The loan they're going to get will benefit small business entrepreneurs like Modesta. Currently she has a business selling groceries that she learned several years ago.

The loan she's getting now will be to increase her capital with a wholesale purchase of rice, pasta, and oil that she'll get from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz, then sell in her sales space. This work enables her to earn money to support her family, because she's single and has three children.

Her goal is to expand her business.

In this group: Sara Belen, Ever Patricio, Zulma, Modesta Pascuala, Lucia, Miriam, Deysi Maribel, Gladys, Flora Antonia
