Veronique's Group's story

Created in November 1995, this group is comprised of women who have a good rapport with one another and are engaged in trade and livestock-fattening.

Veronique, the one standing to the right of the photo, is 58, married and mother of 7 children of whom 2 are girls. She is the main borrower and has been engaged in livestock-fattening for several years.

She intends to buy 5 sheep which she will then fatten and resell after 5-6 months. The rest of the loan will be used to buy livestock feed and cover other expenses. The profits that she makes will let her buy peanut oil which she will also resell.
