A loan of $700 helped purchasing seeds, organic compost and fertilizers.

Rosa's story

Rosa is 45 years old and lives with her partner, Juan, age 47. The couple has 2 children, but they live with only one, Mirco, age 23, in a house that they own. For the past 25 years, Rosa has cultivated carrots, Peruvian potatoes, peas and gladiolus flowers of various colors, on land that she purchased with the help of her husband and her brothers Jesús and Rubino, who currently still cultivate the fields along with her. Although many years have passed, they remain united. Rosa considers her work to be worthwhile, because the profits from it have allowed her to build her house and provide an adequate standard of living for her family. Among her plans for the future, she is thinking about opening a fertilizer store in the community where she lives, since her neighbors buy a lot of these supplies. She would also like to buy and sell heavy machinery. This is her ninth loan with MFP, and she would like to continue working with the members of her communal bank, because they are very trustworthy and responsible people. She will invest the funds from this loan in purchasing pea seeds and several sacks of organic compost and fertilizers for her cultivated fields.
