A loan helped a refugee family to pay the rent and provide their daily basic needs.

Ameeneh's story

Ameeneh, the 37 year old Syrian mother of 5, two of her kids appear in the photo. She fled the war in 2014 with her family to Jordan seeking security and safety.

The husband works at Zaatri Camp as a painter for a very low wage that is barely enough to feed one child. But, with 5 children to feed and provide medication for especially in tough cold seasons like winter, Ameeneh finds herself helpless especially that she has no skill that could be tuned into a business.

With a great hope and a determined heart, Ameeneh asked for a JODs 400 loan from Kiva field partner to pay for the house rent and feed her children. She aspires that she will be able to start a small clothes trading business and become financially stable.

This loan is special because:

It gives opportunity to Syrian refugees who have fled the war in Syria.
