A loan of $350 helped buy chemical and natural fertilizers and to stock her store.

Ernestina's story

Ernestina is 31. She lives with her mother and her ten year old son, Giancarlo. They live in a modest house, which is her own. She has been working in agriculture for several years. She plants peas, beans, carrots, onions and other small vegetables. She sells them to wholesalers who buy all of what she produces. Even though the work is arduous because you must spend several hours on the land with the inclement weather, she has become accustomed to it, and it is does not seem difficult to her. She also likes it because she gets good earnings. She says that in the future she would like to plant in greater quantity because her dream is the dream that all agricultural workers have, to come to earn more. This is the sixth time that Ernestina has had a loan with MFP. She is prepared to make all of her payments on time in order to return, in some form, the confidence placed in her. She plans to use the loan to buy various sacks of chemical and natural fertilizers to take care of her land. She also wants to invest in opening a grocery store. She has not been able to finalize that yet, but she will use part of the loan to start stocking it.
