Kofi's story

Kofi (which means "Friday born") is 56 years old, married and the father of six children. All of his children are in school, and he makes a living by running a grocery store where he sells items such as sugar, vegetable oil, bottled water, skimmed powdered milk and biscuits. He buys his supplies in Accra and sometimes from the nearby town of Cape Coast. It has been his dream to expand his business by adding new items to his inventory, and he is applying for this loan to buy drinks, bags of sugar, cartons of vegetable oil, boxes of biscuits and other items such as tomatoes, smoked fish, dried fish, onions, spices and groundnuts. His goal is to increase his income to support his children in school, and he is very grateful for the assistance he receives from Kiva lenders.
